THE NAME’S HILL. FREYA HILL
My name’s Freya Hill, I’m 23 years of age and I am a freelance writer, editor and social media manager. I have a triple distinction in Womenswear Fashion Design and I have won two creative arts awards for my writing and design work.
In February 2011 I had my blog scouted by MTV which began my writing career. In June I was chosen as an exclusive blogger for Brighton Fashion Week and in August I became the Fashion Editorial Intern at Fault Magazine. Over the next few months I worked exceptionally hard and that resulted in my work being sent to the British Fashion Council, having the opportunity to interview a phenomenal selection of designers, actors and actresses, Gillian Anderson being my first, and finally, experiencing the monumental excitement that comes with having your work critiqued by the editor of ELLE magazine, Lorraine Candy, and Guardian features writer/interviewer Simon Hattenstone.
2012 proved to be an even better year. In February I became Kettle Magazine’s Fashion Editor and Voucher Codes‘ Most Wanted Magazine’s Fashion Writer. In March I featured on New Look‘s global website alongside a list of world famous editors and celebrities and in May I became Fashion Editor at the luxury printed publication Riverside Journals. I am incredibly proud to say that during SS 13 London Fashion Week I worked as a catwalk reporter and interviewer for the prestigious organisation Fashion Scout.
To date, my position in the industry has strengthened. So far this year I have become a Senior Womenswear Stylist for Thread and Social Media Manager for UK Models. My responsibilities at Voucher Codes have widened (I now write for their healthy living, entertainment and home and garden sections) and I have launched my own clothes line in conjunction with my sister; Word Head.
